The Mekong is the world’s 12^th longest river which is approximate 4,350 km. The river flows through China’s Yunnan, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Vietnam Mekong is the substantial portion where you can see a vast maze of rivers, swamps and islands. This portion covers more than 40,500 km² flowing through many provinces in South Vietnam: Long An, Đồng Tháp, Tiền Giang, An Giang, Bến Tre, Vĩnh Long, Trà Vinh, Hậu Giang, Kiên Giang, Sóc Trăng, Bạc Liêu, Cà Mau and Can Tho. Its delta is one of the two main rice-bowls providing rice for domestic need and export. The river delta is home to floating villages and thousands of people.
